The Gorgeous baby G!

Who doesn't love a birth where the gender of the baby is unknown?!  There is so much excitement in the air just waiting for the big reveal.  I loved the fact that their nurse was on pins and needles the whole time!  She even tried to peek in the charts to see the gender but to her disappointment it wasn't in there to be found!

I can tell you one thing, this sweet little angel knows how to plan a perfect day to be born!  It was Easter Sunday, early evening when mom and dad arrived at the hospital.  We all waited patiently for the arrival and at 10:48 p.m. mom and dad welcomed a beautiful baby GIRL to this world!  They were elated to have another little gorgeous girl to add to their family!  Many family members hung around waiting eagerly to hear the news and their excitement was such a joy to watch!

I couldn't ask for a better job!  There is nothing more beautiful in this world than watching the birth of a child.  For me, every birth has certain highlights that stick out to me, making each birth a unique experience I will never forget.  For me, this birth had many of those moments.  The way dad looked at his wife and his new daughter nearly brought tears to my eyes.  There was so much emotion, and it made my heart swell!  Sweet baby G had some of the cutest facial expressions I have ever seen and I am so glad I could capture them!  Thank you for allowing me to be there with all of you and join in on this pure moment of joy!  It was a beautiful day and you now have not one, but two beautiful little girls!

Precious Baby A

What an honor it was for me to attend this beautiful birth!  I arrived in plenty of time and watched as mom progressed smoothly through her labor.  She had an amazing team surrounding her including her wonderful husband and a very supportive doula and midwife.  This was my first birth with a doula present and it didn't take long for me to fully understand the benefits of a doula.   She was such great support for both mom and dad and you could really feel the bond between mom and the doula.  I had not met this family previously but within minutes of photographing them I could sense the connection between mom and dad.  They were very in tuned and she would look to him for support and he would give her exactly what she needed.  He encouraged her and calmed her throughout the whole process and it was moving to watch.  It was late in the evening when we all finally got to welcome Baby A to the world.  She weighed 7 pounds 1 ounce and her beauty and perfection was evident right away!  She is such a beautiful little addition to a very loving and wonderful family!

Mr. L

I have a good feeling that sweet Mr. L is going to become something quite extraordinary when he grows up!  I say that because this sweet boy knows exactly what he wants.  He kept his momma and daddy waiting well past his "due" date and then when nobody expected it, he came as fast and furious as ever.  Due to his spontaneity and San Antonio traffic at 5 pm, I missed his birth.  His momma's amazing midwives, however, made it just in time and he was born peacefully in his loving home.  I was told that his momma birthed like a champ and had complete control from beginning to end!  He arrived at 5:30 p.m., weighing in at 9 lbs. 8 oz.  When I arrived there was nothing but calmness and love in the air.  Mr. L was nursing with his momma and completely content.

This was my second time working with Nikki and Tracy from San Antonio Nurse Midwife.  They are two amazing women whom I choose to call, "The home birth baby whisperers!"  They were kind enough to wait for my arrival before collecting all of Mr. L's stats.  He is such a beautiful boy with long blond hair and light features.  His rolls made us all swoon and his baby coos made us melt!  He is the perfect Valentine's gift for this beautiful family!

You have to start somewhere!

Baby E is special to me in so many ways!  Welcoming her into the world was my first time photographing a birth and I couldn't have asked for a better setting and a better group of people!  I met her mom, Olivia, on a FB group when I asked if there was anyone out there willing to share their birth with a stranger.  She replied, we met, and I knew we were meant to be lifelong friends.  It was as if we were meant to cross paths and I couldn't be more grateful!!

The call came mid-morning on December 30, 2014 and I was excited and ready to go!  When I got there, things were moving smoothly and quickly and her midwives were busy getting everything ready.  Olivia was in great spirits and cracking jokes in between contractions.  Everyone was all smiles and the energy of the room was as cool and calm as could be.  It didn't take long and her contractions were getting much more intense and coming much more often.  Her husband, Kyle, was such a strong support for her. He was full of compassion and encouragement from beginning to end.  He was hands on the whole time and you could see that his touch gave her strength.  They were deeply connected and it was beautiful to capture those moments between them!  The end was getting near and Miss E would be here shortly.  Olivia had a short break between some very intense contractions.  In that moment, she looked up at all of us and smiled. Her strength and determination was awe inspiring!  Miss E was born at 12:36 p.m., perfect and beautiful in every way!  Congratulations Kyle and Olivia, you are one amazing team and you sure know how to make beautiful baby girls!

Welcome!

Welcome to Picture Perfect Birth!  After having my third child I realized that birth was a passion of mine!  I decided to start training to teach other couples how to have a successful natural birth.  I am currently working on my certification through Birth Boot Camp to become an instructor and I am looking forward to being officially certified to start teaching in early August 2015. Shortly after I moved to San Antonio, I put a message on FB hoping to find someone who was expecting and who would allow me to be present at their birth.  It is part of my certification to becoming an instructor.  The most amazing woman responded and was more than willing to share her special moments with me in her intimate home birth.  I asked her if she would like me to photograph her birth even though I had never done it before and she said she would love it!  The rest is history!  I fell in love with birth and photography more that day!  I knew I was on the path I should be!  After giving her the pictures she said to me, "I forgot how much we were all smiling!"  I knew in that moment, that along with teaching couples about birth, I would love to help them capture those moments that are too precious to forget!  Birth is a beautiful process and is very empowering!  My goal is to capture those moments so you will have them to share in the future!

Thank you for taking the time to visit and please check back often as I am currently trying to build my portfolio!
